Profilo biografico

Andrea Santicchia, in his artistic practice, explores the tension between anthropic and technological, natural and artificial, employing various media including sculpture, visual and sound. He makes use of hyper-technological tools and complex systems for data analysis and generation.

An instinctive attraction to a perceptual phenomenon lies at the core of his systematic exploration. The subject of interest is deconstructed through a series of digital processes and its backward investigation leads from the event to its origin.

He has performed in prestigious international theatres and festivals, including: the Conference of Ministers of Culture 2022 at the Palais de l’Europe, Council of Europe, Strasbourg (FR); ARS Electronica at Deep Space, Linz (AT); Sónar Festival, Barcelona (ES); Videocittà Festival, Villa D’Este, Tivoli (IT). ARTECHOUSE, Washington DC (USA); Diriyah Art Futures, Riyadh (KSA); RomaEuropa Festival at Teatro Argentina,

Rome (IT); Expo 2020 at the Italy Pavilion, Dubai (UAE); CHRONIQUES – Biennial of Digital Art, Marseille (FR); Node Festival at Teatro Storchi, Modena (IT).

He is currently on a worldwide tour with the audiovisual concert “Transient – Impermanent Paintings” in collaboration with Quayola. For this specific project he adopted the alias SETA.

In 2023, he received a nomination for the S+T+ARTS Prix, Grand Prize of the European Commission honoring Innovation in Technology, Industry and Society stimulated by the Arts in collaboration with Ars Electronica.

He has collaborated on worldwide exhibitions and installations in prestigious venues, including: HowArt Museum, Shanghai (CN); Paradise Art Space, Seoul (KR); ARTISTS & ROBOTS (curated by Grand Palais, Paris), Expo 2017, Astana (KZ); SKP, Beijing (CN); Palazzo Cipolla (Terzo

Pilastro Foundation), Rome (IT); Museo di Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire (FR); STRP Festival, Eindhoven (NL); SERPENTI 75 Years of Infinite Tales by BVLGARI, Milan (IT) and Beijing (CN); PESARO 2024 – Italian Capital of Culture 2024, Pesaro (IT).
